Iretiolu [Hope] Shittu, is a results-driven lawyer with diversified international experience in the practice of law.


She started her law practice as a Municipal Prosecutor, Umuahia South Local Government Area, Nigeria for one year. In 2002, she joined Excel Law Firm which represents several transnational, government agencies, local companies and individuals in contentious real estate, employment,debt recovery, commercial/corporate, criminal matters and human rights arbitration, and litigation proceedings at the various levels of courts in Nigeria. 


Having learned the practice and business of law, in 2006, she established a law firm, Diadem Chambers, Lagos. With her experience in litigation, commercial/corporate law, real estate law, wills and estate planning and appearances before different Courts in Nigeria, as the Principal Partner, Hope brought to her practice persuasive insights in providing legal advisory services and representations to clients from diverse backgrounds and also saw to the smooth running of the firm.

 

She moved to Canada with her family in 2015 and qualified to practice law in Canada. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020.


In her spare time, she enjoys conducting legal research, volunteering, and spending time with her family.
